Relief for Montreat

We lament alongside so many communities and individuals battered by Hurricane Helene. For those grieving . . . for those waiting (in despair and hope) for God and God’s people to show, you are not alone. We grieve and hope alongside you. And we trust: “I will walk by the river of hope, and you will find me there, and you will reach out your hand and push the heavens back, into place, and I will kneel and give thanks, for you will be with me. You will put the stars back in the sky.”

Looking for ways to support those impacted by Helene’s ravaging path? We have made donations to the following groups:

  •  Black Mountain Presbyterian Church (NC) is providing direct relief. You may support their initiatives to respond to urgent and emerging need, including their current provision of food and water here: https://onrealm.org/BlackMountainPr/-/form/give/now. Select “Local Emergency Relief” as the fund.
  • Rumple Memorial Presbyterian Church (NC) is busily connecting volunteers to opportunities to serve across the High Country. You may support their efforts to provide food, water, blankets, and hospitality (internet and power), throughout the community and the Appalachian State University campus, in Boone here: https://rumplechurch.breezechms.com/give/online. Select give to “Disaster Relief” or “Pastor Kathy’s Discretionary Fund.”
