Celebrating the Service of Graduating Board Members

We give thanks for the purposeful service of OPSF’s leaders. Following the annual board of directors meeting, in April, the board and staff celebrated the service of graduating 2003 and 2004 board members. Each has shared his gifts and talents generously and with great love for and hope in the mission of OPSF. Pictured from left to right: Senator John Nelson, Mr. Robert Meyer (chair), Mr. Jack Jackson (treasurer), Mr. Dave Fulton, and Rev. Dr. Alan Brehm. Not pictured: Dr. Phil Dudley and Rev. Rick Sleyster.

OPSF’s President, the Rev. Shelli Latham, presented these faithful leaders with challenge coins (challenge because of their rising to the challenge of leadership, coins because of their consistent generosity)

And the graduating board members received this blessing:

Blessing the Way, by Jan Richardson

With every step
you take,
this blessing rises up
to meet you.

It has been waiting
long ages for you.

Look close
and you can see
the layers of it,

how it has been fashioned
by those who walked
this road before you,

how it has been created
of nothing but
their determination
and their dreaming,’

how it has taken
its form
from an ancient hope
that drew them forward
and made a way for them
when no way could be
seen.

Look closer
and you will see
this blessing
is not finished,

that you are part
of the path
it is preparing,

that you are how
this blessing means
to be a voice
within the wilderness

and a welcome
for the way.
