As parish pastors, many of us meet the beginning of fall with trepidation. How might we craft worship for the upcoming year? Which texts do we use or themes do we follow? How do we design our sermons so there is consistency between the weeks? The Narrative Lectionary (NL), developed by Luther Seminary in 2010, is a four-year lectionary cycle that focuses on story and helps preachers tell the story of God’s people – of whom God is and whom we are called to be.
When: September 15-18, 2024
Where: Heartland Retreat Center in Parkville, MO (eleven miles from Kansas City)
What Should I Expect? Mindfulness, prayer, vespers and worship will mark your day. In workshops, we will delve into the contexts of bible texts to discern how God might be calling us and the church to be in the world.
