Resources for Congregations in Transition: Transition Support
Fifteen PCUSA churches in transition will be selected each year: 2026, 2027, and 2028.
- Of those churches, priority will be given first to churches under 200 members in the Synod of the Rocky Mountains, then larger churches in the Synod of the Rocky Mountains, then to churches located in the OPSF service states, then nation-wide.
Each church will receive live Zoom training and support from experienced congregational consultants:
- An initial conversation between the congregation and the Synergos consultants
- Live Zoom training sessions: Theology of Leadership, Hiring and Best Practices, Conflict Management, Resources for Churches, and MissionInsite data interpretation
- A financial overview and analysis of church resources, via Zoom (financial asset mapping)
- A review of the church’s Ministry Discernment Profile (MDP) with Zoom consultation and written feedback (for churches actively seeking a pastor)
Congregations will be encouraged to complete the process within 12 months. Churches that are unable to complete the work within this time will need to provide for Synergos an updated timeline to ensure completion.
This resource is free to churches under 200 members within the Synod of the Rocky Mountains. Larger congregations and congregations outside of the Synod of the Rocky Mountains can access this resource on a sliding fee scale.
Presbytery Continuing Education Support Add-On Events
Synergos is proud to offer Presbytery Add-On Events for churches in the Synod of the Rocky Mountains.
Each presbytery in the Synod of the Rocky Mountains can receive up to two supported add-on events (now through 2028) to accompany in-person presbytery gatherings.
- Each add-on event will include three 90-minute workshops on topics of upcoming worship, strategic and long-term planning, and other topics relevant to both pastors and church lay leaders.
- Workshop leaders are experienced pastors and church leaders who are committed to increasing resources and support for churches of all sizes.

Available for Free Congregational Use Now
Synergos is grateful to make available fully-prepared Worship Series for churches of all sizes and it is free to use and adapt.
Deeper in Faith: a Journey of Spiritual Formation was released Spring 2026.
- This seven-week worship series is fully scripted and includes:
- Bulletins with liturgy, scripted sermons with bullet points, power point slides, children’s messages, journal entries, and a ritual action for each week. It also includes hymn suggestions and more. It is intended to be adaptable for churches of all sizes, from micro to mega, and everything in-between.
- Each week can be used as a stand-alone service but it is intended to build a deeper understanding of spiritual formation throughout the seven-week series.

Synergos Residency
The Synergos Pastoral Residency is cohort based and provides wrap around services to pastoral and congregational lay leaders through the following key activities:
- Pastoral Resident support equips and sustains mid-career pastors through: (1) annual retreat providing formation for the first and second year of the evolving ministry, (2) monthly coaching, (3) monthly cohort peer-to-peer learning opportunities.
- Congregation/Church Leader support: (1) congregational consultation, including evaluation, visioning, and goal setting; (2) team coaching for key leaders, (3) cross-congregational roundtable gatherings for shared learnings with cohort congregations, and (4) a final consultation and goal setting for time beyond the grant.
About Jessica:
A 5th-generation Montanan, Jessica lives in Montana with her husband, their two children, and a tabby cat.
She is a solo pastor and an ICF-certified coach working primarily with pastors in transition. For the past two and a half years, she has served as the Synergos Pastoral Residency Director with the Omaha Presbyterian Seminary Foundation, partnering with PCUSA churches across the Synod of the Rocky Mountains.
In this new extension of the Synergos programming, she consults with congregational leaders seeking resources and support for the work of leading their communities during times of transition. She brings both the perspective of a working congregational pastor and the tools of professional coaching to help leaders navigate transition, discern direction, and strengthen their congregations.
