WHAT COACHING DOES:

  • Helps you identify individual issues relating to your ministry leadership
  • Helps you move towards solutions through organized and creative processes
  • Helps you work toward balance of ministry
  • Helps you expand your leadership through pastoral ministry
  • Helps you improve your abilities to organize and manage the ministry process

WHAT PASTORAL COACHING IS NOT:

  • It is not counseling
  • It is not psychoanalysis
  • It is not therapy
  • It is not vocational guidance
  • It is not spiritual direction

COACHING IS A POWERFUL RESOURCE FOR MINISTRY.

The Omaha Presbyterian Seminary Foundation program is for PCUSA pastors and Commissioned Pastors serving in the 13-state primary service region of the foundation. The Foundation has established a national network of trained coaches who can provide you with up to eight sessions of coaching. Many of these coaches are clergy and all are very familiar with the issues facing clergy and other church leaders. Most of OPSF coaches are affiliated with the International Coaching Federation (ICF) which is a major national certifying and training association.

Prices have been negotiated in advance. The Foundation will pay half the cost of your coaching. Payments are made directly to the coach after the first four sessions and following the eighth session. At the conclusion of the coaching, OPSF will request your evaluation and the coach’s assessment of the process so that the Foundation can continue to develop and improve this program.

If you are interested in having a coach, use the following email: gseller@opsf-omaha.org  Dr. Eller will be back in touch with you as soon as possible. He will provide you with the contact information of two or three coaches in the OPSF network who have confirmed their availability. You would then have an initial conversation with those coaches and determine whether one is a good match for you. Those initial talks are ordinarily free. The coach you select would then contact opsf@opsf-omaha.org to confirm that an agreement has been reached.

The Foundation believes that coaching can be a great asset for those in ministry and look forward to sharing this resource with you.
